We had great classes for HEP 2018.

Note that links to class handouts are still up.

"How to Get From a B to an A in Performance" by Sandi Wright

Isn't this what we all want to know?  Sandi has lived this dream, and is one of the few people certified to judge in any Barbershop Contest, anywhere.  Now she will share what she has learned in the process of getting to that elusive "A." Click here for the class handout.

"Implementing a Vocal Development Plan for Your Chorus" by Ben McDaniel

In this class, Ben will share how the SmorgasChorus has improved their singing through the use of a Vocal Development Plan, and will discuss how other choruses can tailor a plan to match their own goals.

"Tuning and Overtones" by Jeff Veteto

It's Just Tuning, right?  Can't we all be Even-Tempered about it?  And what does that geometry guy Pythagoras have to do with music, anyway?  And finally....are overtones even real, or just imagined?  Click here for the class handout.

"How is THAT Barbershop?" by Kevin Keller

Most of us have been there:  You hear a song--in contest--and wonder, "Why didn't that get disqualified?"  So what really does constitute Barbershop, and where are we going?  Taught by a guy who has more credibility than opinions, this will be worth hearing. Click here for the PowerPoint.

"Traveling Shows for Outreach and Fundraising" by Mary Halsig

So how financially viable are your shows?  any chapters struggle to make them profitable.  Mary will share an approach that worked with her chapter, taking a well-produced package show on the road.  Broaden your audience, perform the show several times, and make some money!  Click here for the class handout.

"Warm-ups for Building a Better Ensemble" by Ben McDaniel

Learn how to make quartet and chorus rehearsals more efficient and effective by using warm-ups that refine vocal technique and build your ensemble.

All quartet coaching is "under the glass," meaning observers are welcome.  Come learn from the best as our amazing coaches work with quartets of all levels.

All HEP attendees are welcome to attend a Friday evening session, February 2, hosted by the CSD Leadership Academy.  Greg Caetano and Steve Kirch will facilitate a workshop on "Chapter Assessment," as part of the Healthy Chapter Initiative
