The St. Louis Area Barbershop Council (www.areacouncil.org) was created to promote a cappella music in the barbershop style throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Each year we hold a festival to “show off” and receive coaching - it’s no wonder the calibre of choruses and quartets (both male and female) continues to shine on the worldwide barbershop stage. Education and improvement are keys to success. So the St. Louis Area Barbershop Council is proud to present its first full day of education. Choruses and quartets (male - female - mixed) are invited to be intensively coached by some of the foremost faculty in the world. Individuals can watch groups be coached to fatten their own toolboxes, or they can attend classes presented all day by these talented international-calibre professionals. It’s a day we are calling H.E.L.P. - Harmony Education and Learning Program. It’s the first of what we hope will be an annual fall event.
So to all Sweet Adelines International choruses and quartets, Barbershop Harmony Society choruses and quartets, Harmony Incorporated choruses and quartets, mixed quartets, unaffiliated choruses, collegiate and high school a cappella groups, and individuals who just want to learn more about the craft, please sign up now to reserve your place at HELP School! It will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the St. John’s United Church of Christ (945 Wolfrum Road, Weldon Springs, MO 63304).
