Senior Chorus Looking to Spread its Wings

The invitation is being extended to all CSD members 55 years old or older to join The Meadowlarks! The Meadowlarks is a senior chorus based in in the Kearney, Neb. area and they are looking for singers to join the fun.

Those interested in singing with the chorus should contact Fran Wilson at frjgwils@yahoo.com or (308) 234-5376. When expressing interest, individuals are asked to provide their preferred voice part and also share if they are singing with any other choruses.

The chorus is planning to sing “Unchained Melody" and "King of the Road." Digital copies of the music will be emailed and learning tracks are expected to be available by the end of February.

The chorus is planning to rehearse during the 2020 Spring CSD Convention on April 17-18 in Wichita, Kan. The chorus will get together shortly after the afternoon session on Friday, then sing in the Saturday morning chorus competition.  The contest administrators will try to avoid conflicts in the scheduling with those who are also singing with another chorus. For those who are close enough to Grand Island, Hastings and Kearney, a Sunday afternoon rehearsal or two will be scheduled near the end of March.

The chorus will wear black pants and a long-sleeved shirt (probably a solid color), any kind and/or color of tie, and a vest of any color. Those who are singing with another chorus can just wear that same outfit for our performance.

For more information, contact Fran Wilson at frjgwils@yahoo.com or (308) 234-5376.
