John Marshall - John has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 39 years. He has served in his chapter as board president many years. He has also served the CSD District as Area Counselor, Chapter Coach/Councilor, Division V.P., Executive V.P. the Events Chair for CSD and currently in his second term as President of CSD. He was a Society Board Member for four years. John has been Barbershopper of the Year twice in his chapter and is a member of the CSD Hall of Fame. John sang in more than 8 registered quartets over the years finishing as high as 6th place international in the senior division and is a member of the Old Capitol Chorus, the Heart of America Chorus and The Ambassadors of Harmony, winning Gold with the Ambassadors in 2004.
Mark Fuerniss - Mark joined the Society in 1983 with the Hastings, NE Chapter. He has served as Chapter Secretary for the Dodge City, KS Chapter and the Lincoln, NE Chapter and has served as District Secretary from 2004 to present. Mark sings lead in the Lincoln Continentals Barbershop Chorus for the Lincoln, NE Chapter. In addition to barbershop, hobbies include long distance running and a few years ago, Mark thought it would be fun to learn to play the trumpet and has been allowed to toot his horn on occasion with the Lincoln Community Concert Band, still a work in progress!
Larry Warrick - Larry has been chapter treasurer for 20 years and elected as CSD Treasurer in 2010. He had been a Society member for 39 years in the Des Moines Chapter. Chapter accomplishments include: President, Treasurer, General Show Chairman, Local Convention Chairman, Assistant director 15 years, and Chapter BOTY 1988. District accomplishments include: present CSD Treasurer, Convention Housing Chairman and 2010 BOTY. Larry married his high school sweetheart Vicki. Vicki and oldest daughter Charyl sing with the SAI Des Moines Chapter, Harmony Central Chorus. Larry graduated from Drake University in the Iowa Certified Public Manager Program.
JP Marshall - JP has been a very active Society member for 25 years with his home chapter, Iowa City, and was honored to be that chapter's Barbershopper of the Year in 2001. He has actively sung in quartets and choruses over the years, including being a dual member of the Ambassadors of Harmony (St. Charles, MO), winning a chorus silver medal in 2007. He has served on the Iowa City chapter board for over 12 years in several roles including President, YIH VP, Music and Performance VP, and Membership VP. JP serves the on the Central States District board as the Events VP, as well as serving the district as the District Harmony Foundation VP for the last 11 years. He also serves the society as a Regional Representative for the Harmony Foundation. In that role he has been recognized as the most successful volunteer recruiter. JP was recognized as the Central States District’s Barbershopper of the year for 2017.
Caleb Fouse - Caleb started singing barbershop in Rose Hill, KS in 2003, thanks to his high school music teacher. In those 15 years, he has been a two-time International Collegiate quartet contest qualifier, a five-time International qualifier with 2014 Central States District champion and 2018 International semifinalist quartet BoomTown, and a founding member of CSD champion chorus SmorgasChorus. He's served on the SmorgasChorus Board of Directors as President and VP of Marketing and Public Relations, and for the past 6 years, has acted as Social Media Coordinator for both the SmorgasChorus and BoomTown. When he's not singing barbershop, he's helping students in Career Services at WSU Tech in Wichita, KS. Caleb has been married to his wife Mandy for nine years and has a two-year-old son and future barbershopper, Beckham.
Chad Schuetz - Chad got his start in barbershop while attending Butler Community College where he sang lead and baritone with the Smorgaschords. After a brief hiatus from singing, he joined the Air Capital Chorus in Wichita and in 2011 became one of the founding members of The SmorgasChorus. He has served both of his chapters in various leadership roles including President, Secretary, and Membership VP. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President for the Central States District. Chad is the principal of Blackmore Elementary School in El Dorado, Kansas.
Jerry Meier - Jerry is the Director of Harmony Explosion!, a one-day clinic that introduces Middle School and High School students (boys and girls) and teachers and family members and friends to the 4-part a cappella harmonic sounds created by singing Barbershop music. He is a 28-year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Central States District and the Kansas City, MO Chapter. He is a baritone in the Heart of America Barbershop Chorus, the 2013 recipient of the chapter's Oz Newgard Award, and the 2015 recipient of the chapter's Barbershopper of the Year Award.
Michael Pommier - Michael has been a barbershopper since 2006 as a member of the Tristatesmen Barbershop Chorus (Joplin, Mo.). Since joining barbershop, Pommier has held several different roles within his chapter, including, marketing vp and president. Pommier took over as the VP of Marketing and PR for the Central States District in 2016 and continues to work to develop better/more effective marketing strategies for the district in addition to serving as a resource for chapters within the district. Pommier lives in Nevada, Mo. with his wife and three children. When he's not barbershopping, Pommier works full-time in marketing/communications for the University of Kansas Area Health Education Center (an outreach office of KU Medical Center) and teaches a digital art class and a digital photography class at Cottey College.
Dan Rasmussen - Dan is thrilled to join the teaching staff at Leadership Academy. Currently, he directs the vocal music program at Liberty Middle School in Liberty, Missouri. When not "herding cats", which is how he refers to his middle school students at times, he can be found at his home in Independence with his better half, Krystal raising their newborn. Dan sings baritone with the 2017 CSD quartet champion Vintage Stock and is one of the assistant directors for his hometown chorus, Central Standard.
Andrew Rembecki - Andrew began singing barbershop in 2004, inspired by his high school music teacher. He continued to grow in his barbershop experience and joined Central Standard in 2009. He is the tenor of the 2017 Central States District Champion Quartet, Vintage Stock. Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in music from Northwest Missouri State University. He has been a music educator since 2013 and currently teaches choral music at Antioch Middle School in the North Kansas City School District in Kansas City, Missouri. Andrew has been a clinician and teacher at barbershop schools around the country and this past year taught at Holland Harmony College and Barbershop in Germany’s Harmony College in Oberwesel, Germany. He is currently in the process of becoming a certified singing judge in the Barbershop Harmony Society’s judging program. Andrew resides in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Chacey, who also sings barbershop and teaches elementary music.
Jeremy Kindy - Jeremy has been a member of SmorgasChorus for 3 years. He is currently the VP of Chapter Development for the chorus. In the time that Kindy has been in the chorus the SmorgasChorus has added 20 new members in the past 2 years. Professionally he is a fundraiser for local non-profits in the Wichita community. “The key to every situation is working on relationships.”
Terry Reynolds - Terry has been a member of the Alexandria Harmonizers since 1992 and has served in numerous musical and administrative positions including Executive Director, President, and Music & Performance VP. He has been Associate and Assistant Director for over 20 years. He has held numerous positions with the Barbershop Harmony Society serving on the Leadership Operations Project Team (LOPT), Chorus Director Development Committee, as a Certified Trainer for Chorus Director Workshop Intensive (CDWI), and on the Leadership Academy Training Faculty for President and for Music and Performance. Terry works as an IT specialist for a government IT consulting company, implementing large system integration projects. He earned a BS in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University. He gained interest in barbershop while singing with the Bowling Green Men’s Chorus under the direction of Richard Mathey and worked summers performing with a barbershop quartet at amusement parks. He has sung in numerous quartets in the Mid-Atlantic and Johnny Appleseed districts.
Christian Hunter - Christian is a very active member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, often infusing his wit and comedy to his performances and presentations far and wide. He has been a member of the BHS with the Hunterdon County, NJ chapter since 2007 serving in numerous roles including President, Membership VP and show chairman. He is currently leading his other chapter, Somerset Hills, through a renaissance as a mixed voice chapter. He is also the baritone of the Mid-Atlantic 2010 novice Quartet champion, “Plead the 5th” as well as “A Definite Harmony Disorder - the ADHD Quartet” and “Men of Steele”. Christian was the Vice President of Membership for the Mid-Atlantic District from 2010-2014 and 2017 to present, as well as 2013 and 2014 Chair of the Membership Committee for the Barbershop Harmony Society. In addition to his membership role, he was a Member at Large on the MAD Board of Directors for many years, a member of its Nominations Committee, as well as a member of the BHS Operations Team.
